Music Pedagogy and Workshops

As a practitioner of Hindustani music for more than three decades, Ranjani considers teaching as an extension of her practice. She has shared her music through lecture demonstrations, illustrative talks and workshops at prominent institutions and Universities nationally and internationally such as Department of Music, Durham University, Society for the Promotion of Indian Culture and Music amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences (CSSS), Calcutta, Centre for Creativity, IIT Guwahati, SRFTI Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata (SRFTI). Since November 2013, she is a faculty member and assistant professor at the Department of Hindustani classical music in Sangit Bhavana at the Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan, West Bengal, an Institution of national importance and founded by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. From developing Hindustani Music curriculum to creating teaching methodologies and sharing her practice with students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Ranjani considers pedagogy of music as an integral part of her work as a practitioner.
